Dr Ali Mohammed Bahathig
Dr Ali Mohammed Bahathig is a consultant in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 2008 specialising in psychiatry, and received his training at the University of Toronto. In 2015, Ali obtained the Canadian Board of Psychiatry and then completed his training for a subspecialty in psychosomatic medicine, obtaining a fellowship in psychosomatic medicine in 2017.
Alongside his current role as a psychiatrist at Priory Wellbeing Centre, Ali also works at the University Medical City Hospital, King Saud University. His role at the University Medical City Hospital includes working in settings such as psychiatry clinics, and clinics of obesity diseases and surgery, where he treats many different psychological conditions that are accompanied by organic diseases. This includes rheumatism, digestive diseases, kidney diseases and other chronic organic diseases.
Ali follows up with the latest clinical recommendations based on scientific evidence for the treatment of patients, especially patients who suffer from chronic organic diseases in addition to their mental illness.
Ali held the position of Head of Psychosomatic Medicine Unit for two years and was the supervisor of the Psychosomatic Micro-Fellowship for the Saudi Program. He is a faculty member at the College of Medicine at King Saud University, where he teaches and trains college students the psychiatry curriculum. During his practical and scientific career, Ali taught and trained many students and doctors, and gave many educational lectures at local conferences.
