Early intervention is important for mental health conditions, so we provide fast access to appropriate treatment. Seeking help as soon as possible can increase the chance of a sustained recovery and better quality of life.

The therapies we offer are proven to be the most effective ways to treat issues surrounding mental health. Our team of professionals with expertise of these therapies provide a treatment experience to suite each and every one of our patients.

The methods we adopt include:

  • Individual therapy

During individual sessions, you will have one-to-one time with your primary counsellor. Inner issues can be explored in more depth and we aim to create a connection where you can feel safe and supported.

We will help you work through your problems and develop a greater insight and understanding of yourself.

One-to-one therapy can vary from one hour, two hours or half hour sessions and we offer accessible and competitive rates for each.

  • Group therapy

Group therapy is a great way to share your problems and get emotional support from other group members as well as a healthcare professional. We create compassionate and understanding environments where you will feel comfortable to share your experiences. Groups can offer a support network that provides the opportunity to meet others experiencing similar concerns.

Groups sessions can at first appear daunting but interestingly, those who express an initial reluctance for group therapy usually go on to enjoy it. For those who have received both group and individual therapy, they are often surprised by their preference for group treatments.

This form of psychotherapy can help you grow – by exploring the way you relate to others within the group will allow you to better understand yourself.

  • Family therapy

We understand that entering into treatment can be overwhelming for patients, family and friends so we ensure support is offered to everyone involved, to achieve the best possible recovery.

We invite family members in to be part of the process. They will have the opportunity to join groups which are information-rich and are an experiential way of exploring family dynamics.

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a fast growing and widely recognised treatment which can be used to help you deal with a variety of psychological difficulties.

CBT allows you to understand how your thoughts and attitudes shape how you act. Our goal is to help you change your way of thinking and behaviour to a better and healthier way of living.

Along the way, you will develop healthy tools and coping mechanisms that can help you manage emotional problems in the future.

In general, patients will meet with their counsellor on a weekly basis for a period of roughly 6 – 20 sessions which will follow a structured process including the completion of homework and behavioural experiments.

  • Dialectical Behavioural therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavioural therapy (DBT) comprises a mixture of group based skills training and individual therapy. The focus with this form of therapy is on the individual and how they can learn to understand and accept themselves.

There is a strong emphasis on developing a personal spiritual programme. It is not expected that you will simply learn the skills and make instant improvements. Instead, through personal commitment, the support of peers in groups and the relentless encouragement of your counsellor, you will come to see DBT not just as therapy but as a way of life.

  • Mindfulness

Mindfulness therapy is an effective treatment for a wide range of mental health issues. This form of therapy teaches you to pay attention to every moment as it happens, using techniques such as meditation and breathing.

It will allow you to let go of negative thoughts, which may be causing you to feel low in mood. It can also help you to become more in tune with your own body as well as helping to identify the signs of oncoming depression or anxiety. This will allow you to take steps to prevent an ‘episode’ before it starts.

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) will allow you to process an emotional experience that you have had difficulty talking about. Experience has shown that EMDR treatment can help a person to develop the ability to talk about feelings more freely, and in a way that may have proved difficult in the past.

Most importantly, EMDR can remove the stress surrounding a traumatic event, allowing a traumatic and emotionally difficult memory to heal and, in time, to repair.
